For those of you who are relatives of someone with a gambling addiction

A statement that many relatives can identify with. Because then it would have been easier to explain. Easier to understand. Easier to get support.
He's not cheating with another woman, but with a game.
And it steals time, money and security, while you as a relative can be left with shame and distrust, and without knowing what lies ahead. If you recognize yourself, know that you are not alone.
Relatives are wondering the same thing
Every day we meet people who are in the same situation, and many ask the same questions:
- What do I do now?
- Is there hope?
- How long should I hold out?
Many also describe loneliness, a feeling of fighting something they can't see, and that no one quite understands how gambling can tear apart a relationship.
We are here for you.
With us you will meet people who understand what it is like to be a relative of someone who is addicted to gambling.
Some are ashamed of still being in the relationship. Others may feel guilty for not being able to "fix" it. While some carry grief and a feeling of having lost their partner.
It's easy to start doubting yourself:
- Am I too strict?
- Am I exaggerating?
- Am I doing enough?
You should know that your feelings are normal. What you are going through is challenging and it is not your fault.
