Become a volunteer - Give your time and experience

As a volunteer with us, you're not only contributing to an important cause, but it's an opportunity to use your experience, skills and time to help others, while developing yourself.

What does it mean to be a volunteer?

As a volunteer, you can engage in several different tasks based on your interests and time. Some of the tasks you can take on include:

  • Group leader: Running and leading self-help groups for gambling addicts and carers. If there isn't a group in your area, we can help you start one.
  • One-on-one conversations: Meeting and supporting people who need help.
  • Staffing of the helpline: Listening, providing support and guidance to those who make contact.
  • Give lectures: Spread knowledge about gambling addiction and prevention to different groups.
  • Stand work: Participate in various stands at events to spread information and show our presence.
  • Board position or regional manager: Take part in leadership and help shape the work of the organization.
  • Political work: Participate in political meetings and user councils to influence decision makers.

By becoming a member of Gaming Addiction Norway, you make an important contribution to our work to help people struggling with gaming addiction, as well as their relatives. Your support makes it possible for us to maintain and expand our support services.

What does it mean to be a member?

As a member, you become part of a community that actively works to create change in society and improve the lives of those affected by gambling addiction. Membership also gives you the opportunity to participate in national meetings and you can be elected as a regional delegate with the right to vote and speak, so you can contribute with your views.

  • You'll have the opportunity to participate in annual meetings and influence decisions in the organization.
  • Keep up to date with our work through newsletters and information.

Where does the membership fee go?

Your membership fee (SEK 100) goes directly to our work to help gambling addicts and their families. This includes running self-help groups, training volunteers, conducting information campaigns and developing resources for gambling addicts and their families.

A membership is an easy way to contribute to a better everyday life for those who are in a difficult life situation.
