Bergen HF Health Center expands e-treatment to the entire country

Digital help just a click away

Getting help for gambling addiction shouldn't depend on where you live. That's why it's good news that Bergen Health is now making its digital treatment service available to the entire country.

What's happening?

Bergen Health is opening up its pilot for e-treatment of gambling addicts to apply to all of Norway, until the end of the year. This means that treatment will be more accessible to everyone, regardless of where you live. You do not need a referral from a GP or to show up physically, you can submit an application yourself via Norway Health.

We at Game Addiction Norway applaud this news. This is a treatment option you “carry in your pocket”.

What does it mean for those who are struggling and for your relatives?

If you find that your gambling has taken over. The classic thoughts that revolve around gambling, the feeling of losing control, conflicts or financial stress, this means: You don't have to wait or travel far to get help.

For those of you who are relatives: You will have peace of mind knowing that help is available online, and that the digital solution makes the path to treatment materials short.

How does it work?

In short, the treatment takes place over 12 weeks in a separate app. The treatment consists of 8 modules and you receive weekly follow-up from a therapist in a separate messaging service in the app. The content of the modules is based on cognitive behavioral therapy.

Therefore, e-processing can be a good choice

Faster help

Without being dependent on a referral, it becomes even easier to seek help.

Support from a distance

You don't have to meet physically. The treatment can be carried out wherever you feel most comfortable.

Security for those who care about you

As a relative, you will learn that there is a specific offer out there that is not locked to your place of residence.

How can we help?

We know that gambling addiction is not just about money, but to a large extent about psychological strain, relationships, shame and loneliness. Many people find that joining a self-help group both before, during and after treatment can provide that extra support on the path to becoming gambling-free.
